The AnyTone AT-D578UV is one of the most advanced DMR amateur radios available at any price with an unbelievable set of features not currently available in any other radio. Let us take a closer look at some of the outstanding features.
This radio covers the 2 meter (144 MHz) Amateur Band, 70 centimeter (450 MHz) Amateur Band and the 1.25 meter (220 MHz) Amateur Band.
This radio can store up to 4000 channels. Each channel can be set for digital, analog or digital + Analog. This should be enough channels to cover all the repeaters in your part of the country.
This radio can store up to 250 zones with each zone contain between 1 and 160 channels per zone. Now you can logically arrange all necessary channels in your zones and not be constricted to 16 channels per zone as is done in some of the other radios
This radio can store 300,000 separate contacts. Considering that there are currently less than 200,000 registered contacts right now, there is plenty of room to grow.
It is sometimes difficult to know which repeater to use when you are roaming around. This radio will automatically pick the strongest one in your predefined list.
You cannot monitor all the repeaters in your area, but the radio can. The scanning function will stop on a channel when there is activity on that channel. If there is no activity the radio will skip that channel and look at the next channel.
What happens if you are driving and it is not safe to handle your microphone to make a call or it is illegal in your state to be holding a radio. Use the optional Bluetooth feature and you can now use the audio system available in your car or a sperate Bluetooth microphone and earphone if the car is not equipped. A separate PTT button that can be attached to your steering wheel is supplied that is used for activating the PTT on your radio.
What good is a radio if you don’t know where you are. Even more important is for other people to know where you are. This radio has an optional GPS that can tell where you are within a few feet.

This radio is great. Got it programmed after watching videos both from Connect Great radio and easy to program. Only issue was the shipping label indicated priority 3 day shippin.g. It left California on Monday and arrived at my location in Iowa on Friday
So far radio is quite good. I do wish it had a removable front panel or even better, interfaced the BFD. But it does what I need and that is the important part.
This is my 2nd 578. It's a great radio that does almost everything I would want. There are 2 shortcomings: 1) the control head isn't remotable, 2) there's no provision for bringing in exteral audio and PTT so it can be used with digital modes like Winlink or Packet. Still, it's very functional and a solid unit - like the 878 handheld.
Great radio well worth the cost
Jerry At connect systems Goes over and above with all his products support is super and the gear is great too. Still new user with the Anytone mobile so far so good no issues this radio is full featured lots of extra's the others don't have. Wish though there was a manual for the software.
Small radio, nicely built. Easy to program, easy to operate. Audio is fantastic. Only knock I have is the speaker mic, the audio could be a little louder and clearer otherwise its a great radio for the money!
Just scratched the surface with the new AnyTone AT-D578UVIII PRO! Programming was very easy especially if you own a AT-D878UV handheld radio. Simply export the channels, zones, TGs, receive groups from the AT-D878UV CPS and import the same to the AT-D578UV CPS and your ready to use the radio. The new AT-D578UV functions well in my electric car. It provides dual band, analog and digital modes in a small package. Associated microphone provides all the functions I need.
Can’t figure which is better, the radio or CSI’s support. And, it fills the bill for me to include my local rag chew on 1.25 meters
