The AnyTone AT-D878UV PLUS is one of the most advanced DMR amateur radios available at any price with an unbelievable set of features not currently available in any other radio. Let us take a closer look at some of the outstanding features.
This radio covers the 2 meter (144 MHz) Amateur Band and 70 centimeter (450 MHz).
This radio can store up to 4000 channels. Each channel can be set for digital, analog or digital + Analog. This should be enough channels to cover all the repeaters in your part of the country.
This radio can store up to 250 zones with each zone contain between 1 and 160 channels per zone. Now you can logically arrange all necessary channels in your zones and not be constricted to 16 channels per zone as is done in some of the other radios
This radio can store 200,000 separate contacts. Considering that there are currently less than 185,000 registered contacts right now, there is still room to grow.
It is sometimes difficult to know which repeater to use when you are roaming around. This radio will automatically pick the strongest one in your predefined list.
You cannot monitor all the repeaters in your area, but the radio can. The scanning function will stop on a channel when there is activity on that channel. If there is no activity the radio will skip that channel and look at the next channel.
What happens if you are driving and it is not safe to handle your microphone to make a call or it is illegal in your state to be holding a radio. Use the optional Bluetooth feature and you can now use the audio system available in your car or a sperate Bluetooth microphone and earphone if the car is not equipped. A separate PTT button that can be attached to your steering wheel is supplied that is used for activating the PTT on your radio.
What good is a radio if you don’t know where you are. Even more important is for other people to know where you are. This radio has an optional GPS that can tell where you are within a few feet.

I was in a bit of a hurry to replace my old 878 as I wanted BT in the new one and had sold the old one. Called Jerry, they had it in stock and if I could get order in quick it would go out that night (this was at 4pm mtn time. They are 1 cent more but I got two batteries and delivered in 3 days. top notch service.
Awesome radio. Color screen makes it easy to use, programming is pretty standard, A&B settings are unique, front panel programming a huge plus. BT connectivity works well. Somewhat pricey, but excellent value.
This is my 2nd Anytone HT; second to AT 868 UV. Great radio, strong clear audio as 868 and added feature of Bluetooth and roaming; both features of which I have not tested yet, I can not comment. As usual, the shipping from CS was fast, received the radio in 2 days time, my location is South Orange County, cA. 2 Minor bugs that I have reported to Jerry of CS: a.) I can't get rid of the nuisance beep that trails each call received, tried the menu and the CPS to no avail. b.) This radio tends to hang-up after the end of a received transmission. If you do not do anything, no further audio is received but a low volume hash noise. But if you change channel, and go back, audio is resolved and back to good receiving mode. In the 1 hour that I have used this radio this morning, this has occurred twice. I suspect this 2nd issue may be related to the first, as I do not hear the beep, and goes just hangs- up with a slight hissing sound. I was told by CS that it is an interference problem?? BUT none of my other DMR radios does this, all simultaneously tuned on the same frequency and channel. I am still awaiting further word from Jerry of CS on above two items. Otherwise, this is a great solid DMR radio, and CPS is fantastic; and I say has the value for the price. - constante
Fabulous radio! I waited for the Bluetooth version and it was worth the wait. My 868 code plug worked just fine in the 878 and I’m getting good audio reports using Bluetooth on both analog and DMR. The radio comes with a Bluetooth “button” to activate transmit and I’m using a $40 Bluetooth earpiece for audio. Connect Systems is great to deal with. I highly recommend them and the Anytone radios!
