We have two types of mikes for the CS800D, CS800 and CS801 radios. We call them the old style and the new style. The old style is what came with the radio before 2020 and the new style started about 2020. The new style seems to be a more rugged and professional compared to the old style. Some people think the voice quality is better in the old style while the majority of people think the voice quality is better in the new style. In either case, the mikes are electrically compatible with the Kenwood MC-59 style microphones.
Connector: RJ45, Kenwood standard
Type: Microphone only

I haven't used it a lot but I think it's a lot better than the old style. The PTT switch failed in my old style mic. I don't think this one will.
Good feel and audio reports are greatly improved over the original.
Product well built and working well
I had to replace the original microphone. I recommend the new version. More positive feel on the PTT, less travel to push buttons. Also, the physical form is meatier and fits in the hand. I like it!
As of right now the Mike is working great, so far no problems!
