If you do not already have one, it is recommended you get a programming cable set for $25.
The Antenna connector on this radio is a Type N and not a PL259.

When you buy the CS800D, you re actually getting the CS800D PLUS radio and is so marked on the front and the labels. The functionality of the firmware is identical to the CS800D. The CS800D PLUS is a CS800D with more flash memory.

The  Extended receive is very helpful in monitoring Emergency Managment inter-op and  Fire Mutual Aid channels (frequencies) operatig in UHF T Band 470 - 512 MHz. (Customer  Review)

This  is the first dual band mobile DMR and Analog radio designed specifically for the  Amateur market. Among other features that will be discussed later is the ability  to legally transmit on both Amateur and Commercial bands with an extended frequency  coverage in the UHF band and a removable front panel. First let me show you what  some of our customers think of it.

The  Extended receive is very helpful in monitoring Emergency Managment inter-op and  Fire Mutual Aid channels (frequencies) operating in UHF T Band 470 - 512 MHz.  As first responder for my towns Emergency Managment this is very helpful in coordinating  with mutual aid agencies.

I like the radio especially  because of its separating head. I just did not have the needed space otherwiae.  Seperation cable is cheap and probably in uour junk box anyway.

I have used the radio  a couple of times. And has performed as expected.

Love the form factor  especially since it's the only dual band DMR radio that offers remote capability.  The software is easy to download and use. Absolutely love the microphone as it  looks, and feels, like the Kenwood land mobile commercial microphones.

The CS800D is the only  dual band DMR mobile that has a detachable head. The head is attached to the radio  using standard CAT 5 or CAT 6 cable. An optional head is available for this radio  called the CS-BFD that uses a 7 inch color Touch Screen LCD that gives additonal  features not available in the radio.

From  the inside, the CS800D is different than the other dual band mobiles. The radio  uses a double conversion superhet design with a tuned front end design for maximum  sensitivity and minimum interference from nearby radios. The radio has two independent  power amplifiers. Switching between UHF and VHF is by means of solid state switches.

Here is the best  part. If you do not think this radio is worth what you paid for it, you can return  the radio within 30 days and get a complete refund of your purchase price. If  the radio breaks during the first year, we fix it for free.

With  a deal like this you would think you would be dealing with a company located in  Hong Kong or China. We are a United States company and have been in business since  1982.

This  monochrome LCD display has larger characters and better visibility in the sunlight  than the small color LCD displays.

This  radio allows you to quickly change the Tx Contact information on the fly. By pressing  the keys from the microphone, you can immediately set up a private call or a group  call without having to use the CPS. An example of this is shown below.

Our  Digital Monitor Mode allows you to hear whoever is speaking on the channel and  see all the special DMR parameters such as Color Code, Slot Number, and Tx Contact  on the display.

In  the menu Utility mode, the radio allows you to change many of the parameters such  as power level without having to use the CPS. An example of the power level feature  is shown below.

If  you want to see who called you before, put the radio in the Menu Call Log mode.

If  you want to see your previous message, put the radio in the Menu Message mode.cs800d-3.jpg

If  you want to see your previous message, put the radio in the Menu Message mode.

  • Receive  frequency: 136 - 174 MHz, 400 - 512 MHz
  • Transmit:  136 - 174 MHz, 400 - 470 MHz
  • DMR  and Analog modes
  • Backlit  keys on keypad
  • Analog  has both 12.5 and 25 KHz channels available
  • All  channels can have unique DMR ID's
  • Two  time slots and all color codes available
  • Adjustable  output power. Maximum power on VHF is 50 Watts, UHF is 45 Watts
  • Tone  Squelch using CTCSS or DCS
  • Tone  signalling using MDC, DTMF, 2 Tone and 5 Tone
  • VOX  available
  • Separate  RF Power modules using Mitsubishi Power Amps for ultimate in quality and reliability.

If you look at the reviews, you will quickly see this is by far the best dual band DMR mobile radio available.

Will Not Become Obsolete This CS800D has an optional  CS-BFD that has the following advantages: (1) Easier to read for us older folks who cannot quite see the tiny displays of other brand radios. (2) Have the ability to have much more information on the display to allow you to know the status of the radio and the communication channel you are in contact with.

This add on product is being designed in the United States and will be have open source code so you folks can make changes and enhancements that was never contemplated by the engineering staff at Connect Systems.

Support Have you ever tried to get support for some of the other radios. If you know Mandarin Chinese and you have free international calling you will have no problems. If you want to speak to someone whose native and only language is English, you call Connect Systems during normal business hours. We also answer e-mails after hours and holidays. Here is what some of our customers say.

"Once emailed Connect Systems in the early morning hours east coast time. Knowing they were west coast and would not be open for hours I was surprised to get an email response from Jerry personally before they were even open." (From Facebook)

"I've always has good support from Connect Systems. Chris is amazing." (From Facebook)

Unconditional Money Back Guarantee If you do not like the radio for any reason including the color or performance, return the radio in the original box with all the accessories given and we will refund your purchase price of the radio. We have been in business since 1982 and we know it is better to give the customer a refund for a perfectly good product than to argue with the unhappy customer.

Warranty If you have a problem with the radio we will repair or replace it within its one year warranty period. With other competitors you might have to send the radio back to China for any problem.

Availability We try to keep this radio in stock. However because it is such a hot seller, we have not always been able to do it.  If the radio is not in stock, please contact us by e-mail and we will put you in the queue for the next shipment

Price We think we have the lowest price for the radio. If you see it advertised elsewhere with a lower price call us at 818 889 0503 and see if we will match it.

Free Firmware Available The manufacturer is constantly adding features and fixing problems as they occur. We maintain the latest firmware as well as the previous versions in case a previous version will work better for your needs than the latest versions.

Special Offer This radio is unbelievably priced at $399. A great deal for a radio with its quality and features. This radio is FCC Part 90 certified and could be used on commercial frequencies.

If this web store cannot take your order for any reason, please call us direct at 818 889 0503 during normal business hours.

    It works

Posted by Jonathan Davis on Feb 10th 2023

I like this radio. I've only used it for one SAR mission, and it worked exceptionally well for the terrain. Good receiver. The antenna was a dual band mobile on the roof of my car, 1/4 wave on vhf 155.160. I had comms beyond line of sight. Jerry, if you read this, make a portable version of the ICS800D plus, P25 capable, and you will solve our dilemma in volunteer search rescue. Jon KB3IZM

    Almost Perfect

Posted by William Coriston on Aug 20th 2022

I am in love with this radio. I use it as a commercial user so the part 90 certification was important to me. The audio is crisp and clear and programming flows well if you’ve programmed any radio before and know the terms. I simply wish I could get more than 4 smart calls, power on scan or power scan memory, and better remote mounting solutions. I would recommend this to anyone in the market. I greatly enjoy the products and shipping was incredibly quick.

    Cs800D plus

Posted by David Welch on Jul 18th 2022

I will say at first I was hesitant about buying the radio. I was impressed how quick it shipped out. The minute I opened the box I very impressed of the quality of the radio. How well it was built. I did have some issues at first programming the unit. I made a call and found I was doing it wrong. This radio has a loud speaker the sound is awesome. I like how the main head can be separated, that helps having limited mounting space. The mic , has a good feel and weight , not that cheap crap you can buy. This radio does everything one needs. I programmed all the local amateur stuff , plus all the local public safety stuff. Plus my own repeater. I hooked up my Telawave meter , it’s putting out the power stated it does. I would say this radio is built and performs well better than my other stuff which I won’t say names let’s just say it’s one of the biggest makers of radios. I will continue to buy radios from Connect Systems. Well built radio with all the radio expectations I would expect out of my other equipment. I will be buying what they call professional radios. I do like it’s a true dual band radio. That performance is awesome. I would give it. A 100 percent radio and would recommend it highly. David - KF5LHG, Mac comm radio service!

    CS800D FCC Part 90

This 2 way radio is a clear winner when it comes being able to program DIY-style. There are no software licenses to purchase, or complicated CPS instructions to read. Easily download software from Jerry's website and hook the radio up with the proper cabling, and you are quickly able to install your radio channels and more. I recommend this radio for amateur and GMRS, having used it for 2 years. I just recently purchased a second CS800D as a backup and for daily use. I mainly use it for analog wideband service, but it works well on DMR.

Perfect radio for me. UHF/VHF analog + digital with extended receive and TX for my public safety use. Just now bought my third one. I use one as a base station and others in my car and truck. Plus, you can't beat the service that Jerry and staff provide at CSI.

I have beeen looking for some time now to find a mobile DMR radio that would have a detachable head. I didn’t want to loose the analog side or the ability to have both VHF and UHF . This radio fit the bill . The contacts on both FM and DMR have been great. I’m looking forward to many qso’s with this radio

Average radio for amateur/commercial with DMR. Has lower RF output than stated even with perfect SWR (39 watts VHF).
